FCMS International Conference 2025: A Call to Minds That Dare to Share

The Faculty of Communication and Media Studies at Rivers State University is proud to host its Maiden International Conference, holding 15–17 October 2025 in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This year’s theme, Shifting Paradigms: Inclusive and Innovative Communication in the Era of Digital Disruption, promises to bring together some of the most brilliant minds from across Africa, Europe, and North America.

It is my honour—and my humbling responsibility—to serve as the Chair of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for this landmark event. I approach this role with deep pride, knowing the weight of the task before us, and with gratitude for the opportunity to help shape an experience that will not only showcase groundbreaking research but also foster lasting collaborations across borders.

Why You Should Be Part of This Conference

Every researcher knows that ideas are seeds—but seeds locked away in a drawer never grow. Conferences provide fertile ground for those seeds to sprout and flourish. By presenting your research, you are not only adding to global knowledge but also joining a larger conversation that can challenge, refine, and amplify your work.

Publishing in conference proceedings and journals transforms your research from private achievement to public impact. It invites collaboration, sparks innovation, and positions you as a thought leader in your field. The joy of seeing your name attached to work that inspires, informs, or even provokes change is a reward that stays with you for life.

And beyond the accolades, there is pride—the deep satisfaction of knowing that your contribution matters and that you stood up to share it with the world.
